It is absolutely amazing to me that I’ll plant a seed in the ground and a little over a week later, a green shoot has made its way through heavy dirt and no one helped it do that. What is it about a seed that it knows to grow? The DNA? I’m not a scientist, nor do I play one on TV, but I believe the key is in the watering of that seed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing lives without water. At least nothing in the garden. This past Saturday afternoon, between taking down trees and limbs for the brush pick up, I planted two different kinds of peas: sugar snap and a bush type. It’s too early for the peas to sprout (it takes between ten to fourteen days, although I did soak the peas overnight before I planted them, which should slightly speed up the process). I did spot some broccoli and the carrot seedlings I planted almost two weeks ago as I walked down the rows yesterday morning. (I love being able to grow food in the fall here!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wonder: how long does it take the ideas we mull over and over in our brain to actually take shape and fight their way into our consciousness, becoming something more than a thought? How ever long that is, I can guarantee you, there has to be something that waters those thoughts, pays attention to them and works to see them develop into a healthy reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Never give up on your dreams<\/strong><\/em>. Think about them; water them with desire and hang around with people who will encourage you and your dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How then shall we plant? We plant with intentionality, expectation, and hope. And we don’t dig up our seed to see if it’s growing. We water our seed with the confidence that it’s worth our time and energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
