Spring is Just Around the Corner

Spring is Just Around the Corner

…and with it, lots of work~

But there’s something to be said about being able to play in dirt.  A lot to be said.  Like how soothing it is to turn over soil to find a bunch of worms feasting, working for me, and knowing all that compost I dumped in the ground is getting turned into gold!  It brings me such delight.  It soothes me and I find a sense of purpose, even though the Great Gardener is the One who is at work behind the scenes.

This is Dinosaur Kale and from the images at my friend’s garden, I KNOW this plant does, indeed, grow to dinosaur size!  As you can see, the chickens have snuck in and eaten the outer leaves!  Stinkers!

This is dill~  and I just thinned it yesterday, along with pulling up all the morning glories that felt comfortable growing in the same bed.  They will be beautiful growing up the trellis on the side of this bed but NOT in the center of my dill.

Seeing green grass in my yard only happens in the winter!  And this particular patch is as healthy as it is because we have been watering it with our washer water!  It may almost too green!

I replanted this tomato in December and never really gave it much thought, but this is exciting~!  The photo was taken a few days ago and is even bigger today!

I have some exciting news that I’ll share in another post but for now, know that I am pruning and rerooting all my roses, lantana!
